EyeInvent is independently owned and operated by Mike de Sousa, a creative adventurer with a depth of experience in: photography; digital artwork; graphic, website, and software design; content editorial; and music composition.

Mike has designed software programs used the world over, and websites that attract millions of visitors.

You'll find Mike's personal site at www.mikedesousa.com which presents an archive of some of his other creative activities and interests.

Website Consultancy

Mike has built and designed numerous websites over the years, including some high traffic, bandwidth hungry monsters.

Mike now concentrates his efforts on his creative and artistic work, however he continues to offer advice and help to website authors with his Website Critique Service which he started back in 2003.

Photography and Artwork

Mike has been taking photographs for over 30 years and has travelled extensively in England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, France, Spain, Italy, United States, Mexico, Singapore, and Indonesia. Images at EyeInvent have been photographed using full format professional Nikon cameras and Nikkor lenses.

Mike's love of art and design has continued from his early school days, and his latest digital work of remote fictional landscapes present exquisite forms in familiar yet distant worlds. EyeInvent also features a broad spectrum of Mike's abstract digital artwork which brings verve and dynamism to online and print publications.

Music Composition

Mike's first commissioned music composition was a three movement forty minute dance work for solo piano and flute performed in 1982. Mike went on to work with The London Contemporary Dance Theatre, toured extensively as a pianist and percussionist, and worked with dancers and choreographers from the UK, USA, and France, including: Daniella Lorentze of Ballet Rambert and Paris Ballet; Professor Marisa O'Neil, Webster University, St Louis; and Michelle Benash of the New York Ballet.

Mike's last major work "Our Town" was followed by more modest music compositions as the blossoming Internet encouraged Mike to devote his creative energies on multimedia presentations and web design.

At the beginning of 2011 Mike started work on a major new multimedia piece which is planned for release during 2012.

Software Development

Mike is the co-founder and Creative Director of 2BrightSparks, and in addition to his role as website designer and content writer, he helped design the interface, developed graphics, and co-wrote the help documentation for the multi award winning backup programs SyncBack Freeware, SyncBackSE, and SyncBackPro.

During his time with 2BrightSparks Mike co-developed InfoHesiveEP Freeware, a multi award winning, easy to use, digital content conversion program and ePublisher suite. Mike was the architect, interface and graphic designer, and wrote the extensive context sensitive help documentation.
